Taper lock bushes, also known as taper lock bushings or taper bushes, are mechanical components used for securing rotating components, such as pulleys, sprockets,coupling,bolt-on hubs,weld-on hub or gears, onto shafts in various industrial applications. They provide a secure and concentric connection between the shaft and the mounted component. Taper lock bushes are commonly used to transmit torque and rotation between the shaft and the mounted part.
The taper lock bushing is pre-bored and keyed to match the required shaft and keyway diameters.The outside of the bush is tapered to match the component bore that is to be located on the shaft.
A taper lock bushing has a taper of eight degrees,which reduces the length-through-bore. Before installation,make sure to clean the bushings thoroughly to ensure they seat properly.
